MARTINBOROUGH, NEW ZEALAND
Te Hera
Te Herā is a family business located on Te Muna Road, Martinborough.
The vineyard was first planted in 1996 and was the first vineyard to plant on Te Muna Road, a road nowadays hosting a thriving number of vineyards.
Their philosophy is great wines are made from great grapes grown in great vineyards.
The vineyard practices are designed to have minimum impact on the environment while also ensuring the sustainability of the crops.
Combined with Martinborough’s great climate, high winds, low rainfall, intimidating spring frosts and long dry warm autumns, they produce accountant-shaking low volumes of high quality fruit.
The vineyard produces 12 acres of Pinot Noir and 1 acre of Riesling and has been certified organic since 2013.
If you are new to Pinot Noir then give this wine a go, it offers typical pinor noir character at a brilliant price.

TASTE
The aroma is unmistakeably Pinot, with dark cherry and sweet berry fruit, ripe plum, there are nice touches of violet and spice in the mix too. It has a fine and elegant mouth feel. There are layers of flavour here, lovely fruit in the berry and cherry spectrum. Savoury complexity and soft tannins support the sweet fruit to give a rich mid pallet.
